The aim is to develop a knowledge product and training for Department of Roads (DoR) personnel, under the Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT), to increase the promotion and implementation of green design practices in transport infrastructure across Lao PDR.</p> <p>The aim is to promote the use of green design principles and their practical applications, while also advocating for the use of Nature-based Solutions (NbS). Gender, Equity, Diversity and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) elements should also be integrated to ensure that green design is inclusive, with benefits distributed fairly.</p> <p>The knowledge product should improve DoR and MPWT personnel knowledge on infrastructure green design and the implications on roads, that could in turn inform the Road Design Manual. A training-of-trainers approach will be applied so the trained MPWT technical staff could then train the provincial staff and maintenance unit.</p> <p>The knowledge product and subsequent training are to be designed in close consultation with the MPWT to ensure the green design elements are tailored to the Lao PDR context. P4I’s role is to provide information exclusively to the ETF to help it supervise the Project Management Consultant (PMC), other departments, and their contractors. Through this activity, Australia is supporting the ETF for successful delivery of Indonesia’s largest and most high-profile infrastructure program.</p> <p>P4I’s scope of works include providing specialist advice on project management, sharing international best practices, methodologies, and tools.
